POST IT NOTE HOLDER

I held a workshop last Sunday afternoon at a friend's house. This was the 3D item that we made at the workshop. It was very simple and fast to make. I used Early Espresso cardstock and the Eyelet Border punch to make the base. The butterfly from the Punch Popourri stamp set stamped in turquoise ink, punched out with the Butterfly Punch. I stamped the sentiment using the Flight of the Butterfly set on very vanilla cardstock, then layered it on turquoise cardstock. I popped the butterfly on top pulling up the wings slightly to give some depth. What a cute gift idea for a co-worker. All products were from Stampin Up. Hope you enjoy this cute post it note holder.......

Meetup Group Card Swap

Our meetup group has a card swap every month. The month of August the theme is get well. I really didn't plan to be in the swap this month, but at the retreat I didn't have much to do so decided to make a simple card and enter the swap. This is what I came up with. Very simple using an embossing folder for the bottom of the card, and using the postage stamp punch to do several squares of pattern paper for the top. I knotted a Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon to give it a splash of color. I did a little paper piercing around the scallop sentiment which I stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink by SU. I added three gems to bring out the color of the ink, and popped it all up with pop dots to add depth. The postage stamp punch by SU is my new best friend. You can come up with so many different combinations just by using all your scrap pattern paper. I've used this punch on several cards, the possibilites are endless. I hope you enjoy!

Sarah, Sharon and I had an early lunch at Red Robin today and then went to the movie to see The Help. My salad was very good, and I really enjoyed the movie. It was a super way to spend yet another hot day in Texas. Fifteen days of 100 degree temps, will we have see cooler weather or rain again?
Happy Birthday to my grandson James, he turned four years old today. He is growing up so very fast...

Card I designed for my Meetup group July swap. Used the "Sense of Time" set, a retired stamp set by Stampin Up and the Tim Holtz gadget gears die. On the gears I used Tim Holtz rusted technique to give it that rustic look. Chipboard works great for the die I used.
Hope ya'll enjoy!
