Update.....

I haven't been doing much in the way of crafting lately.  Our grandsons are taking so much of our time right now.   They are little for such a short time and I don't want to miss a moment of playing with them.

I am also redoing my ARThaven!  OMG!  This is so much fun!  We went to IKEA and I picked out the cabinets, cubbies, table and whatnots to get started next week. Hope to make it to Lowe's this afternoon to choose a paint color.  Tending towards taupe for the walls with white trim.  Everything else will be white.  I'll add color with accessories later.   Not so much fun is trying to remove everything from the room so the walls can be painted and units assembled and installed.   It is crammed packed to the rafters with crafting supplies.  The room is small and won't be as elegant as I would like but it will be organized, clean and fresh.  Plan on weeding out a lot of stuff I don't use, famous last words, right?  I'm sure this will be a work in progress for the next several months.

Right now it is an exciting time for all SU demonstrators.  The sneak peek of the new catalog items were posted on May 1st.  The five new In Colors are bright and fresh, new designs of DSP and of course, the stamp sets.  All the improvements and new items coming in the new catalog are exciting and updated "BUT" on the downside, there are a lot of our favorites that are retiring forever.  It is sad to see so many products being taken away.  We are moving in the right direction and will soon have new favorites.   June 1st, our friends and customers can join in our excitement!

Until next time, stay well and keep smiling!

New Project

I worked on a new project last evening to share with the ladies in my card class.  The card bag and the five cards it holds is from Craft Project Central. I'm sure I've told you before how much I love this site.  They have so many neat projects and getting ready for a card class has never been easier.   Their designers do all the work  using the newest SU products and all I do is cut the kits and teach the class.  Lovin' it!

The DSP used in this project is Twitterpated and is found in the Occasions Mini.  The papers go perfectly with the Bordering on Romance stamp set used in the project.  The colors are so soft and fresh.

I really enjoyed making this set and  can't wait to share it with the ladies in the class.  They are going to love it as much as I do.  I think this set would be perfect for Mother's Day.

I hope you enjoy this project.  Thanks for visiting my blog.
Until next time.....
Happy Crafting

Hi Everyone....

Seems like forever since my last post.  Our retreat to Hid-a-way Hill was awesome, Sandy, Patty and Grandmother sure know how to spoil us.  Everything about the retreat was wonderful.  I did stay up into to wee hours two nights, still paying the price though.  Just can't get enough sleep!

New to the retreat this time was a beautiful margarita machine.  It was so cool and the frozen margaritas were great.  Melissa brought the Jeanne Robertson tapes and our cheeks hurt we laughed so hard.

Making memories with old friends, new friends and friends I haven't seen in awhile is the ultimate!

Until next time, be happy!

Carrot Easter Basket

I found this cute pattern by Brooke Stockmann on Split Coast Stampers and was really anxious to make it for an Easter decoration.   It was such a fun project to make.

I stamped the Wood Grain SU stamp on Sahara Sand card stock to make the fence slats.  I used Garden Green card stock for the grass and the main part of the box was Early Espresso.  I inked around the slats to add a little dimension.

I was really surprised how easy this was to make and even more surprised that I found the Lindt chocolate carrots on my first trip to the grocery store.

I hope you all enjoy this cute and tasty decoration and maybe make one for your Easter holiday.

Wishing everyone a very blessed Easter!

Carrot treat boxes......

A friend came over to play this afternoon and it was the perfect time for me to make these cute carrot treat boxes for the ladies in my card swap group.  They are cut out and scored on the Cricut, a little glue here and there, four chocolate eggs for inside and a handful of ribbons tying it closed and there you have it, a cute little treat box just for the Easter holiday.   The pattern for this treat container is part of the Hippity Hoppity bundle over at Svgcuts.com.  They were fun to make (and quite easy) and will be just as fun to hand out at our next card swap.   Enjoy!

Top note Easter basket

I made these two  Easter baskets while talking with a friend last evening  I used the Top Note die for the sides, Tasteful Trims die for the  handle, and the Box #2 die as the base of the basket.    Also used the Dot embossing folder to add a little dimension.   The backside bunny is made from punches, large and small Oval for body and ears, Butterfly for the feet, 1 1/4" Circle for the head, and the Boho blossoms for the tail.  I used Pacific Point card stock and ink.  Pretty cute, huh?  I got the tutorial from StampingwithKris.com .  Hope you enjoy and make a few of these cute baskets for your little ones.

Paper Easter basket

We have been watching our two grandsons this week and what fun we are having.   They are such a joy and both very sweet and well behaved.  Jeffrey, our red head has a slight temper though and is just beginning to use it to get his own way.  James hangs out with Gramma-ma and helps in the craft room.  He is really into the die cuts and punches right now.  Everything I make is James' favorite.

Tom takes James to pre-K around noon and I put Jeffrey down for his nap after lunch.  I then have a little time to get what little work done around the house that absolutely needs tending to and to spend some time in my craft room.  I do spend the majority of time in my craft room.

Today while Jeffrey is napping, I made this cute paper Easter basket.  It is made using the Fancy Favor Die (SU) with a handle made from the Lace Ribbon Punch (SU).  The grass on the basket is the pleated ribbon in the SU mini right now.   The flowers  around the basket are from the BoHo Blossoms punch (SU) .   I used rhinestones for the center of the flowers to add a little bling.

The little bunny on the front of the basket is made from punches of various sizes.  I used Soft Suede ink to add dimensions to the punched pieces before putting  the bunny together.   Of course,
I used all Stampin'Up products on my basket.  The project itself is designed by Chris Galbraith for Craft Project Central.  I really enjoyed making this basket, think I will make one for each of my grandchildren for Easter.  It will be James' favorite I just know it!

Head on over to Craft Project Central and sign up for March 2012 and you too can make this cute little basket.  Signing up for a month will get you ten (10) projects plus a bonus.  All for just $10.00 a month.  Quite a deal!  Stop by my SU site if you need to purchase the supplies to make the basket.   Enjoy my basket!
