Day after.....

The Scraptabulous Crop yesterday was absolutely great!  We had such a good time with old friends and new ones as well.  We had some doing scrapbooks and some doing cards and even some making castles.  There was a lot of food, sharing and laughter.  It was a really fun day that was over way too fast!

Today on the other hand went rather slowly.  I was up early but went back to bed for a really long nap.  I think the anxiety and preparations for our crop, wore me out.  I did work a little on my castle this evening.  Finally got the draw bridge put together and the chains are working perfectly.  It did take a lot of tweaking.  Finished part of the roof but still have hundreds of bricks to cut out, round the corners and glue in place.  This will be another day.  I will definitely post pictures when I finish this project.  It is taking a lot longer than I ever anticipated.  Hopefully the mini album that goes inside the castle won't take as long.  Although I've been frustrated with this project as times, I have enjoyed it.

I'm off to bed so until next time, sweet dreams!

Swap card....

I am in a Meetup group in my area for cards and crafts.  We started having card swaps every month with different themes.  This month the swap is A Free For All, in other words make a card using your colors, greetings, embellishment etc.  I decided on a sympathy card and used the greeting from the Becasuse I Care stamp set from SU.  It was a hostess gift awhile back.  I used Regal Rose, Early Espresso & Crumb Cake card stock, DSP paper in Brights collection, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch, Beautiful Butterfly die and Early Espresso ink.  I added pearls to the butterfly and although you can't see it in the photo, I sprayed the butterfly with Shimmer Mist in  pearl. Enjoy my swap card.  I will post all the cards after the swap.

SU Regionals

Several of us from the Katy area attended the SU Regionals in San Antonio this past Saturday. There were 1400 SU enthusiasts gathered at the convention center to listen, laugh and learn from the trainers of SU.  They are an amazing group of ladies with good tips and ideas on how to improve and go forward with our businesses.  The demonstrations gave us many ideas for new projects and classes.  The swapping cards were amazing, meeting people from all over the country a real treat, and such a joy meeting  old friends we've met from past gatherings.  It was such an enjoyable, relaxing Saturday being with people who love what they do and love sharing it.  Valentine's Day is fast approaching so I posted only those swaps with the Valentine theme.  I have many more to post later.

We had a fabulous room in San Antonio at the St. Anthony.  I'm posting a photo because I was so impressed with the room and it was about the same price as our breakfast Saturday morning.  It is a shame we weren't staying longer.  We each had our very own bathroom, closet and four poster bed.  How wonderful was that?
A huge thank you to our up line who made our hotel arrangements, she did an outstanding job getting us such nice rooms for such a piddly amount.

Until next time, enjoy the photos and have a marvelous Monday!

Friday, January 2oth

I will be leaving here within the hour to go to San Antonio for the SU Regionals.  My first time so just a wee bit excited.  Getting to see some of the friends I met at convention last year and hopefully meet some new friends as well.  We are just going over night so should be home late tomorrow.

I am working on the Castle Album by Laura Denison and have the towers almost completed.  Will be posting as I go with this project since it is very detailed.  I am liking the way it is going so will get some photos up next week.

Until next time, everyone have a great weekend.

Scrapbook Pop-up pages....

I just recently took a class on pop-up scrapbook pages.  We did a double page layout using the Sizzix pop-up dies designed by Karen Burniston (she also taught this class).  It is absolutely amazing how using a pop-up die can make an okay scrapbook page into a WOW! page.  The paper we used is by Imaginations and is much prettier than these pictures show.  I will be making pop-up pages for all of my albums.  Enjoy!
